How to get published!


Panel: Helen Wilson - MIA, Morag Fraser - formerly of Eureka Street, Lisa Gye - FibrecultureHelen, Morag and Lisa will discuss their publications and publishing experiences as well as giving us some tips and advice on how to get published!

Yummy nibblies and drinks will be served after the presentations. This will be a great time to do some networking and make some new postgrad friends!

You don't need to be an ANZCA postgraduate member to attend this function (although obviously we'd like you to consider joining :-)However, we are trying to set up a network of communications postgrads here in Melbourne which as a member you'll be able to participate in regular social get togethers, seminars and networking with local communications academics, so if you'd like to find out more about ANZCA and would be interested in being part of our regional network please come along on Friday!
Panel Speaker Info ...Morag Fraser is a former editor of Eureka Street and is currently Visiting Fellow in the School of Communication, Arts and Critical Enquiry at La Trobe UniversityHelen Wilson was president of ANZCA 2001-2 and has published on various aspects of media industries. Helen is the current editor of the journal Media International Australia Incorporating Culture & Policy and editor of Belonging in the Rainbow Region: cultural perspectives on the NSW North Coast, SCU Press 2003. She taught Media Studies at Southern Cross University for three years after having lectured at Macquarie University and the University of Technology, Sydney. Lisa Gye is currently on the Editorial Board of MESH, experimenta media arts' annual journal and is a fibreculture facilitator, the online Australasian network for internet researchers. Lisa is a Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communications at Swinburne University of Technology. Her scholarly interests include critical theory and new media, media production, alternative media practices and authoring for new media such as the World Wide Web.
